In Case of Zombies

The lighter side of SHTF HD, (shit hits the fan home defense), a fun thread at Shotgun World:

I don't know much about zombies, but since they are supposed to be already "dead", I'd guess that large caliber weapons, more likely to immobilize them, would be the way to go.  So out of what I have on hand:

1.  12 gauge 9-shot Mossberg Persuader pump riot shotgun.
2.  Charter Arms .44 Special Bulldog revolver.
3.  8 mm. vz. 24 Czech Mauser rifle.

As much as I love living in a gun-free environment, there's a part of me that would love to get "tooled-up".

With zombies, the important thing is to shoot them in the head. Nothing else matters (I've gleaned this from the first series of "Walking Dead").

Well, you've got your bow and arrows: not something I'd care to face climbing through your window.

I bought the shotgun back in the early '90's, when crack-related crime, (armed car-jackings and home burglaries), reached alarming proportions. Then local law enforcement agencies set up juvenile detention boot camps and rounded up the young thugs. Problem solved.

The shotgun has slept in its box on the shelf in a closet ever since. Cleaning out my office recently, I took it down to inspect it, prompting an online exploration of today's U.S. gun scene.

Thanks for the zombie head-shot tip!
